The most shocking case is perhaps N Subramaniam, a father of four. This 42-year-old plantation worker was only left with RM33, following the deductions to his April salary. By S Rutra, Free Malaysia Today
SPECIAL REPORT KUALA KUBU BARU: Palm oil and rubber prices have rocketed, and industry captains are laughing all the way to the bank. Shareholders, some of whom have never been to a plantation, are ecstatic about their expanding bank accounts.
But FMT learnt that the plantation workers do not share the same kind of excitement, and so a team was dispatched to two estates in Hulu Selangor to find out why.
Welcome to the Nigel Gardner and Sungai Jernih plantations, whose inhabitants were recently treated to round-the-clock sumptuous feasts and top-notch entertainment.
No, it was not a reward from their paymasters for their hard work, but rather baits thrown by political masters to fish for their votes in the recently concluded by-election.
When FMT visisted the estates last week, the fanfare had ended. No more colorful lights, Tamil songs blaring from mammoth speakers or politicians with hampers making a beeline.
But why are these folks not excited about the soaring rubber and palm oil prices? Because some of them still cannot afford a meal in a fast-food restaurant.

The above news I stole it from Malaysia Today without their permission. Hope RPK will understand my plead for the minority of Malaysian specially when I am a local from KKB.
The people of SIBU mainly Chinese community in majority which hold more than 60% of the voting power made their choice by choosing DAP as their represender in the parliment.
SIBU which use to be a BN strong hold made a tremendous turn over sending clear message to BN that Pakatan is spreading their wings to East Malaysia.
Different from the Hulu Selangor by-election which most popularly known as buy-election, SIBU which hold Chinese majority sent a reminder to BN that money can't buy everything.
People never changed but they were made to change. The hope and the waiting for more than 50 years without much changes has given a clear picture to the rakyat that BN is no more relevan.
This message indirectly goes to Taib who have been the KING of Sarawak for more than 4 decades. His time has over and coming to the end. He has to step down now or may face the lost of total Sarawak in the next general election.
The Chinese have proven they are not beggars who can be bought with goodies and some pocket money. Unlike the Hulu Selangor by election where by the rakyat were blind with money and groceries.
SIBU by-election result:
DAP - 18,845 BN - 18,447 Ind - 232
Majority - 398

Habib RAK: Be a 'Greater Malaysian' - I like that. It resonates well and it moves me. This speech by Anwar Ibrahim is more positive and raises his ability to motivate Malaysians to strive harder for a greater Malaysia. It appeals to the generosity within us to give and share. I do think that this theme should be furthered.
WandererAUS: A handful of 'professional samsengs' from Umno who shouted "buntut, khianat" was that the only response Umno can offer? Surely, it takes more that this cheap shot to knock down the champion for a greater Malaysian.
There was never any doubt in Anwar's message, spoken as a true Malaysian... a vision for a better country and for its people - a Malaysia for all Malaysians immaterial of race and religion, a country with room for all who wish to prosper together.
Umno feared this man who have paid a high price for his sins for being an ex-Umno member.alis
Kgen: Anwar gives the same message to all races unlike BN which spews out different messages to different races. How many Umno politicians will go to a Malay crowd and tell them to fight for the rights of all Malaysians regardless of their race or religion?
They will be talking about Malay rights and tell them to beware of non-Malays threatening Malay rights while to a Chinese crowd, Umno will be mouthing equality and fair treatment.
Cala: Bravo. 'You are a greater Malaysian'. This newly-coined slogan of Anwar together with his 'Save Malaysia' slogan sit well in Lim Guan Eng's Middle Malaysia motto, and blend seamlessly with Zaid Ibrahim's Pakatan Rakyat framework proposed earlier.
I can see a lot of efforts have gone into all the three components of election tools and no doubt they will be well-received. Clearly Pakatan is practicing an inclusive policy for every ethnic group. Who else but Anwar is the hope of a better Malaysia?
Sarawakian: His message is simple but very effective and is appropriate for all races. The opposition should stick to this especially when addressing rural and semi-rural crowd.
Keep at it so that it will become a common theme. Let the BN use whatever dirty tricks they are capable of because at the end of the day, people will not be swayed by them.
Everyone wants a better future for themselves and their children. The BN is now painting themselves as a rouge government akin to the Burmese junta by their action and words.
Satinah Osman: To the initiated, there is no difference between Malaysia and Burma. Only the strategies are different. The end is the same. But some of Burma's brutalities are coming to the forefront in the country and this does not foretell a bright future for our children and future generations.
Aramsa: Between devil and the deep blue sea, I would choose an unknown angel rather than a known devil. The devil in Umno/BN is beyond redemption. The unknown angel in Pakatan is the next alternative choice.
There is no option but to save this country from the plunderers and from our messed-up institutions. Selamatkan Malaysia.
SaveMalaysia: Great speech, Anwar. This is what rational and progressive Malaysians want to hear. Pakatan is the way to go to save Malaysia economically and from the narrow mindedness of the false protectors of race, religion and rulers... and two decades of misrule.
Geronimo: The Malays must now make it their credo by ridding themselves of the corruptive practices of Umno who have been ripping them off for the last many decades.
It's time for all good men to come to the aid of his country, and at the end of the day, bear in mind what Sir Winston Churchill said, "Never in the field of human conflict, was so much owed by so many to so few."

Wishing all Hindus a very Happy Thaipusam dan and may Lord Murugan's blessing be with us with his grace and prosperous. May his brave and sharp mind give us energy to stand for justice. Let this Thaipusam day unite us to be stronger and wiser.
Lets get united with our Muslim brothers, Buddhist brothers, Christians brothers and others as well. Our blood is all red after all. Let us break the the wall of religion that stands between us. Understand ones religion and respect all is the key for unity of mankind.
The Muslim and others are always welcome to Batu caves or any other temples in Malaysia to celebrate this day with Hindus.
Colorful, musical, no meat foods, sweets and all type of Tamil's traditional and cultural items can be found in this auspicious day.
Visiting any Tamils holly places to witness Thaipusam celebration doesn't make anyone to change their believes of faith.
It was just a celebration celebrated by Hindus to clean their sins and get blessed from Lord Murugan. His blessing goes to all if we believe GOD is one and for all.
Malaysians, specially the majority group should be more wise and be more understanding to others believe and don't be naive and short sided. No one is greater than the others.
No body owns this world for themselves but it was to be shared with all include the animals and all in it. GOD never had any hidden agendas to us. He never create hatred. He is the ultimate love and supreme being for all mankind.
There is no Indian GOD, Chinese GOD, Christian GOD, Muslim GOD or any other religion GOD. But there is only one GOD for all.
“The Selangor government today announced that its civil servants, students in state-owned higher learning institutions and employees in state subsidiaries will be barred from attending nation-building programmes carried out by Biro Tatanegara. The programmes were described as tools of indoctrination, peppered with racist ideas.”
I have heard “Ice cream boy went to Hollywood” story.
I have heard minister having two Hari Raya open house when only one is allowed.
I have heard billions were missing in PKFZ episode.
I have heard enough how Silver state was stolen
I have heard miss used of people’s money means your money and my money.
I have heard million were given as a commission for Sukhoi and scorpion purchase.
I have heard the usage of C4 the military owned explosive used to explode humans.
I have heard previous governments invoices are still been paid.
I have heard too about million paid for flower suppliers.
I have heard corrected story about “correct correct correct” and “Looks like me, but it was not me” stories.
I have heard many and still listening to those in power.
Perhaps, all this are not new to be heard but in politic, this is how the game been played to be rich and famous.
Is this mean the catch for MACC by getting bigger fish but only small are caught in the net?
I am not going to tell you what I think and I am not ask you what you think.
No, I am not going to ask but I am going ask how long this going to go on.
So, how long miss-use of “Rakyat’s” money is going to go on? Even the commission can be considered as people’s money too.
Enough of stories, but what transpired in the latest issue about nation-building training is really shocking and disappointing. Never ever cross my mind the basic thinking of the rakyat were tainted with racial hatred poisoning.
If this is true, where are we Malaysian in Malaysia were heading? The wealth and the hard work were to be manipulated by certain group for their own agendas.
And this has been done in a professional way with the use of government funding and facilities.
But the move by the Selangor Pakatan government to ban all the training conducted by the BTN is the righteous move on time. This is the prove and this is how should be the way.
Rejection shows Pakatan is against racial politic. Racial politic manipulation is no longer needed for the country. And this is the government that we should vote for.
This is one great article from Tun M. I guess this article is for his best friend Samy Vellu. At least Tun M opened his eyes about his political friend. Rakyat have sent the message. Kalau tak faham lagi, perkataan "BODOH SOMBONG" adalah jolokan yang terbaik. Kalau pemimpinnya bodoh sombong, pengikutnya pun sama bodoh sombong, ada yang bodoh lurus.
But I had named him "Bodoh Sombong" earlier in my blog before you TUN.

Makan Suap ~ Tun M
I thought about this title long before. But it was remain as a title for at least a month or two. I don’t know what to highlight regard to this title called “The Art of Sharing”. Not because there is nothing to highlight but I felt this was not new to Malaysia.
By or without realizing Malaysian has been living in this country by sharing. From food, language, fashion, marriage and name it, you will know the proved out of it.
Living in Malaysia, we can find the art of sharing is the fundamental of the basic Malaysians. I can deliberately say if there is another word for “The Art of Sharing” it should be “Malaysia”.
I don’t have to elaborate further to Malaysian as we know we have been living by sharing this country for centuries.
From the day when Parameswara (Founder of Melaka) convert and wed a Malay Muslim girl and the following king who married Hang Li Po (China girl from China) and to till now shows Malaysia is blend with multi culture and religion.
Past is past and what ever in the past is by gone history. Malaysians actually forgotten these histories so called left out memories. Yes, Malaysians have forgotten the history on how Malaysia was “rojak” made by multi cultural and ethnic.
I am totally disappointed with the current situation which reflect Malaysian have forgotten the history. Forgot not only the history, but even we forgot the achievement of independent which achieved through hand in hand with all races.
Let me quote as what said by YB Maximus Ongkili who is also federal Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation who said there is “trouble in paradise”.
If there is trouble in paradise, it is with good reasons too. At least we can measure where we are and what went wrong.
For sure something is wrong. Seriously something is very wrong. Something is wrong with the people of Malaysia.
This paradise is facing trouble. This trouble shall jeopardize the harmony in this land. Harmony which held Malaysia as a unique land is vanishing.
The latest Cow headed incident is the proved shows the tolerance is lacking in this land. The arrest of some leaders in last night candle Virgil (06/09/09) is another proved to show the UMNO BN ruling is one sided and intolerance.
Many questions arise when double standard applied. The watchdog police was use to achieve the need of the UMNO BN goal to bring down oppositions.
Can anyone imagine the reason for the police not to act on the Shah Alan protest is because the officer is new and inexperience? Another issue is on the MCA leader and MACC, no arrest was made and VIP treatment for Ong Tee Keat when he was called for statement but when comes to opposition they will be arrested and questioned until late night. Wonder with all the urgency.
At the end of the day, with all the racial issues played by the UMNO BN ruling government, the paradise will go into trouble and Malaysian will be losing the sentiment of sharing.
The questions arise, why Malaysia have lost her art of sharing?
Yes, by claiming the rights by one ethnic alone by the name of “Bumiputra” and claim this country belong to only one race is the reason why Malaysia is suffering. The others were sidelined by the name of religion and race base policy.
Than, why we are talking about 1Malaysia? Why we are talking about unity? Why we are talking about fairness, when the citizens were treated with quota system?
"From the onset, I gave importance to religious sensitivities. I want unity. We are not against the temple, we just do not want it to be built in a Muslim majority area," committee chairperson Mahyuddin Manaf said.
Done is done, are we going to talk about it and make the matter worst? As a Malaysian, a Truly Malaysian, this is the time for the Hindus to show to our Muslim friends that we "forgive and we shall forget".
I will totally against those Hindu brothers who try to uproar the issue. It should not be the way of Hindus. The Hindus should take this opportunity to show that Hindus are willing to forgive and forget.
We Hindus are against violent. The Hindus love peace and the Hindus shall leave to the GOD to decide the best for the life of the cow and the sin for kicking and spitting. This is a sin they should answer to GOD for the animal they brutally killed.
Those who involve in this "cow head" demonstration must be used by some political motives politician. Yes it was clearly mention 5 UMNO members were involved.
Immature and dirty political move by some dirty corrupted bastard who trying to ruin the Malaysian harmony should be forgiven and let him be alone in his world of fanatism.

Najib orders action against cow-head protest 2009-08-28 21:09 KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak has ordered the police to take swift action against a group that brought a cow's head to Shah Alam to protest a Hindu temple relocation in a bid to calm swirling racial tensions.
The outraged prime minister gave instructions to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan after Selangor police stood by in the after Friday prayers protest.
Indian leaders from both sides of the political divide condemned the protest, saying it will incite racial tensions in the country's most developed state.
MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu called the group extremist but asked Indians in the state to be calm. "It is the right of Malaysians of any faith, including Hindus to build temples and other places of worships.
I am very sad that this group had paraded the cow's head on their way to the state secretariat building," he said in a statement.
"I am worried that this action may lead to retaliation from the Hindu community. However, I wish to urge the Hindus especially to be calm and let the authorities deal with it," he added, saying the protesters must be punished for endangering racial harmony.
The action drew the ire of other Indian leaders including Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy who called the protest a "disgraceful" act" while Human Rights Party leader P Uthayakumar was disappointed that the police did not arrest those involved in the protest. The Pakatan Rakyat government said it will lodge a police report, regretting the inaction by the police.
The group of Malay-Muslim protesters claiming to be residents of Section 23 had dumped the severed cow's head outside the Selangor state secretariat.
The "residents" said that the construction of a Hindu temple in a 90 per cent Malay- Muslim neighbourhood was insensitive because activities there would disrupt their lives.
“I challenge YB Khalid, YB Rodziah and Xavier Jeyakumar to go on with the temple construction,” shouted Ibrahim Haji Sabri amid strong chants of “Allahu Akbar!” as he referred to Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and his state administration.
Ibrahim identified himself as the deputy chairman of the Resident’s Committee against the building of the temple in S23 here, which is perceived by some as being a Muslim majority area.
He told the press that the state should move the temple to Section 22 as ‘originally planned’, and also labelled Khalid a “traitor to the Malay race and Islam”.
It is understood that the protest is an immediate reaction towards the Selangor MB’s visit to the Hindu temple site yesterday, an act seen by the "residents" as disrespectful to the Muslims of the community.
When asked whether members of the protest were affiliated with any organisations or movements, Ibrahim claimed that the people present today were members of PAS, PKR as well as Umno who are “united in the name of Islam and the Malay spirit.”
The issue first cropped up when the Selangor government proposed that the Sri Mariamman temple be relocated from Section 19 to Section 23.
In a statement, the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism & Taoism (MCCBCHST) called for calm to enable the authorities find a “peaceable agreement and understanding”.
“Nothing can be gained by provocative action on the part of any side. MCCBCHST regrets that a severed cow’s head was brought along in the demonstration,” said president Reverend Dr Thomas Philips, noting the cow is sacred to the Hindu religion.
He said religious issues were best resolved around the negotiation table where mutual respect can be shown to all. “No further demonstration by any side should be contemplated or allowed. Peace and order should be maintained for the sake of all residents,” Philips added. (The Malaysian Insider)
I have never known any leader for the Tamils since I was born and he is the one and the only SAMY. So I think the Tamils know him better than anyone in Malaysian politic. No denial that Samy has done for the Tamils. He indeed contribute and no doubt about it. At the same time he have fatality to Tamils ander the name of MIC.
Swallowed the Maika fund, named the school land under him, swallowed the Tsunami fund over 2 million, created gangstersm and split Tamils in Malaysia into two groups and many more includes AIMST missing fund.
He lost the support and lost his parliamentary seat which proved the Malaysian regardless race have rejected him. From Tun Hussein Onn, Tun Mahathir, Tun Abdullah and now DS Najib, Malaysia have seen number of PM in a row. But for Samy, still stand as a king for the Tamils.
And for sure leaving the presidency in 2015 is bullshit from him. Why the Tamils still believe he will leave MIC by 2015? All this was another peacock story from him. He can’t live as a normal man. He will be sued and humiliated and shall end his life by walking up and down to the court.
So, he will never quit. Hang on in MIC is like hanging the Tamils balls on the fence. The UMNO BN ruling party is actually enjoying watching MIC and the Tamils ship sinking to the bottom.
No one dare to challenge him in MIC either because the president's power to revoke the MIC membership is a threaten to those who trying to be hero. Even a minister will fall to lick the ground when his membership in MIC was reworked.
This is what happened to DS Anwar Ibrahim in UMNO.
At the end of the day, MIC sucks. This somehow will benefits BN in losing the support from the Tamils. UMNO and MCA will be laughing at Tamils community for not having ground to stand with unwanted leader.
Another hot issue from BN comes from MCA, the three corner fight between Tiong, Ong and Chua reflect the efficiency in BN.
The smell of troubles in stings, the Chinese friends need to look into this matter seriously. But frankly speaking, they still have guts compare to MIC. MCA members dare to voice out the concern and dissatisfaction over the leaders.
This is how the system should work. This is the way it should be. The leaders should not be given autonomy power to decide. He should be under control. Control by the voice of the members.
If not, similarity in MIC will be repeated. The boss will shake his balls hanging for the rest of his life.
My opinion, Ong Tee Kiat should resign or he should go for leave until the rumors on his allegation cleared. He has cause MCA a huge humiliation over his allegation and rumors. If he don’t, than Chua Soh Lek should join Pakatan Rakyat and bring all his supporters in his ship.
Lets see if BN can still hold on and lets see if DS Najib will still say, “I won’t interfere until I am invited…..”
Take it or leave it. Don’t hang on it until your balls got rotten.
I will slap him left and right if he opens his mouth… Samy told reporters when asked about his comment on his ex-deputy.
This is another side of him. The dark side of him. This is how he has been in power all the while. Slap Anyone who question him.
Use gangsters to stay in power. Use his underground link to delete those he thinks has virus.
And now he is trying to bring his son into the picture (MIC) to maintain his influence. May he is think the MIC belong to his fathers. Or maybe he thinks MIC belongs to his as he has been in control for more than 30 years.
MIC lost the majority support cause of him. Tamils don’t hate MIC, they simply hated him. Tamils hated him for neglecting the majority Tamils. He can say he have built a school or temple for Tamil indeed he did.
But it doesn’t mean he can play GOD with the Tamils.
Have anyone wonder why he still nailed hi7mself at the seat of MIC? I wonder why he is not moving an inch from MIC?
Some say he is waiting to be given TUN. So no one can bring him to court for the sin and corruption he was involved.
I was not a MIC member as well as most of my friends. I rather support PAS supporters club than support the rotten MIC. Typical boredom and typical INDIA style of managing the Tamils of Malaysia.
Let it be, let it be in the way it has been. Till MIC loose the total support by next GE13. Than it will effect the BN government progress. And by statistic, BN will be topple because the Chinese soon will open their eyes.
An eye opener for Chinese are happening now in Teoh’s case. Brutal murder by the top personnel from the MACC and some politician reflect the non bumi’s are useless and powerless.
Brutal attacked by authorities on DAP Chinese prove even Chinese in BN will face the same fact if they avoid the yes man concept. Read me again, it was not 1Malaysia concept but yes man concept.
Malaysians… lets be Malaysian and show your choice when you have the chances. We have the greaters power of choice so lets choose wisely.
I am a Malaysian. I am a citizen of this country. I am eligible for vote to choose the leader and the ruling party to rule this country. But by the name of GOD, I was not surprise to read the housing loan offered by some famous bank in Malaysia.
This has been happening since independent day. This is the way the Malaysians were treated by the beloved motherland. This is how the citizens were protected by the government.
“Don’t ask what the country has done for me, but ask what you have done for the country” ~ Please don’t tell me to follow what was written.
I have paid my tax, my tolls, my school fees and government tax for shopping that I shop and food that I ate. What else? and how not to ask when I was treated as a second class citizen compare to my Malays friends.
Is this the type one 1Malaysia the Malaysians are talking about? (Photograph). Is this the type of treatment were to be offered to Malaysians regardless race and religion? Is this how citizen of a country should be treated?
What is the concept of 1Malaysia? What is the actually unity that been mention by PM? Can anyone high light where the so called non bumis are heading too. Where is the future for the non bumis in this country? Will there be one?
