YB Khalid For The Aid - You are the man.

The family of death-in-custody victim N Dhamendran needs more sustainable aid to carry on with their lives after the death of their sole breadwinner, Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said today.

dhamendran khalid ibrahim 160613Khalid, who is also the Bandar Tun Razak MP, visited Dhamendran's family at their flat in Bandar Tun Razak today, but did not specify the kind of aid he or his party would extend to the family.

"I don't want to talk about specific aid, but it's clear that the children's education must be taken care of. Also the family is renting their home, so they need proper income to sustain themselves," Khalid said.

He said he paid the visit because Dhamendran's family lived in his constituency, and also to update himself with the latest developments in the case.

dhamendran khalid ibrahim 160613"What's clear is that justice must be served as soon as possible, not only to the victim, but also the family," he said.

Dhamendran's wife M Marry (right) said she might have to start working in order to sustain the family, but a problem was that her two-year-old child would not stay with any of the family's relatives.

"We need income. I have never worked before. My husband took care of everything, including the rental for the flat," Marry said.

dhamendran khalid ibrahim 160613Dhamendran died at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters on May 21, 10 days after being arrested over a shooting incident in Bandar Tun Razak.

His family said his ears had been stapled and the pathologist who performed the post-mortem declared blunt force trauma as the cause of death.

Three policemen have been arrested and charged with Dhamendran's murder, while the police said a fourth officer involved in his death has gone into hiding.

Death In Custody - P Karuna Nithi's autopsy report shows he had sustained 49 injuries.

Contrary to police claims of no foul play and no injuries on custodial death victim P Karuna Nithi's body, the victim's autopsy report shows he had sustained 49 injuries.

These are predominately bruises caused by a blunt object on the chest and limbs, according to the report prepared by Tuanku Jaafar hospital forensic consultant Dr Sharifah Safoorah Syed Alwee Al'Aidrus.

karuna death in custodyPKR public complaints bureau chief S Manikavasagam said the report contradicts what the police have initially claimed.

"The CPO of Negri Sembilan (Osman Salleh) had come up and said there is ‘no injury, no foul play, nothing. (They said) we have never beaten him up.'

"Before the post-mortem had been completed, he came up with a press statement saying that these are all rumours and told the public not to believe them.

"So today, it is very clear: 49 injuries. These are new injuries," said Manikavasagam when contacted today.

He said he accompanied Karuna's family to see Sharifah yesterday to receive a one-hour briefing regarding her findings and the report, a copy of which has been sent to Malaysiakini.

Karuna, an engineer, died on June 1 at the Tampin police district headquarters, a day before the family could raise money to post bail for him after he was charged on May 31 for "causing hurt".

‘Injuries did not cause death'

Despite the report of the injuries however, the autopsy report concluded the cause of death to be "fatty change of the liver", a condition commonly associated with alcoholism or obesity.

She added that the injuries did not involve the muscles or the skeleton, and on its own, could not have been a direct cause of death.

NONE"Fatty change of the liver causes death through hypoglycaemia (abnormally low blood sugar content) and/or electrolyte imbalance, both of which cannot be proven in a post-mortem.

"This condition is possibly compounded by absence of partially digested food material in the gastric cavity," she wrote.

When asked to explain the findings, Manikavasagam (above) said the pathologist had speculated during the briefing that Karuna had not been eating while in detention and was too frail to survive any beating as a result.

Manikavasagam, who is also the former Kapar MP, said Karuna's family has lodged a police report at the Seremban police district headquarters today against CPO Osman over the latter's claims that there was no foul play in Karuna's death.

They will also raise the issue in a memorandum to the Bukit Aman police headquarters on Tuesday, and another to the Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) later next week.

Sugumar's family mulls suit

Meanwhile, in the case of another death in custody victim C Sugumar, lawyer Latheefa Koya said the family is mulling to sue the government and the police for causing suffering to them and Sugumar.

sugumar funeral 120613Sugumar was found dead on Jan 23, allegedly after being chased by the police, handcuffed, and beaten by them and a crowd who had joined in the chase.

However, Latheefa said they will wait for Serdang Hospital's autopsy report first before deciding on their next move.

They were previously told by Sugumar's pathologist that he had died of a heart attack, and requests for a second autopsy were unsuccessful.

Three Charged For Murder of N Dhamendran

Three police personnel were charged in a magistrate's court in Kuala Lumpur today with the murder of N Dhamendran while he was being held in their custody.NONEHowever, no pleas were recorded from accused Jaffri Jaafar, 44, Mohd Nahar Abd Rahman, 45, and Mohd Haswadi Zamri Shaari, 32.
However, they acknowledged  the charge levelled against them in a courtroom packed with family members and relatives of Dhamendran (above, right), as well as reporters.

The three policemen were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code with committing murder with joint intent, together with another who is still at large, by causing the death of Dharmendran Narayanasamy.

They are accused of committing the offence between 12.20pm and 2.50pm on May 21, 2013, at the Special Investigations Division (D9), Level 7 of the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters.

The charge, which will be heard in the High Court, carries a mandatory death penalty upon conviction.

Magistrate Nur A'minatul Mardiah Md Nor set July 9 for mention and also for the submission of case documents, including the chemist’s and post-mortem reports.

Jaffri was represented by Hazman Ahmad, Mohd Nahar by Baljit Singh Sidhu while the third accused, Mohd Haswadi, was represented by Geethan Ram Vincent.

Lawyers N Surendran, Latheefa Koya, G Sivamalar and M Manogaran held a watching brief on behalf of the deceased’s family.

Multiple blunt force trauma
Earlier today, Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail said in a statement that he had decided to “proffer a murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code against the police personnel involved”, based on evidence gathered through investigation.

“The police personnel concerned are to be indicted in court this afternoon.”
gani patailAccording to Gani (left), the 31-year-old detainee was found dead in his cell while in police custody the at lock-up of the D9 branch of the Kuala Lumpur police contingent.

Dhamendran had been arrested on May 11 on suspicion of attempted murder involving firearms and had been held under remand from May 12 up to the time of his death.

Based on the post-mortem examination conducted at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on May 22, the cause of death was determined to be "diffused soft tissue injuries due to multiple blunt force trauma".

"The AG's Chambers views this latest incident of a death of a detainee while in the custody of a law enforcement agency seriously, and is committed to dealing with any alleged wrongdoing leading to the death of Dhamendran in accordance with the law," Gani said.

"The AG's Chambers then directed the police to investigate the case and the dedicated task force established by the inspector-general of police completed its investigation and submitted the relevant investigation papers to the AG's Chambers on June 4.

"Although the events involved are regrettable, the swift action of the Royal Malaysian Police to address the death of Dhamendran is nonetheless commendable and reflects (its) commitment... to uphold the integrity of the institution of the Royal Malaysian Police."

Barking At Each Other

Who lets the dog out.... Wof wof wof......

Lets bark at each other..... Wof wof wof...

I have a Rott Weiler now and i have owned dogs since I was young. My family never lived with out dogs. Dogs are such a great friend to human and in Indian community dogs always portrait as a thank full animal.

They will die for their master to protect and to safe guard. Not only the master but the master's family as well. This is what I have learned, that being loyal is the key for trust and prove for loyalty.

Seems now a days we have lots of dogs barking in our political arena. Ya, before I forget, the Tamils also says, barking dogs don't bite.

So, loyalty and barking dog don't bite goes well in our community. Some just bark, some just being loyal to their master for the ministers job offered, some just wait and shake their tail when the master is around, and go back to sleep when the master is not around.

Some dogs kill each other for female dogs and some fight to dead for food and territorial defeat.

But real dogs will stay alert and protect and fe guard the property when the master is not around. No doubt we human sometimes act like a dog when comes to certain issues.

We just bark, because we hear other dogs bark. We bark to attract attention. We bark to scare others. We bark for publicity.

So, go on barking and barking. No one is bothered to listen to barking anymore. Soon or later its all about barking and not bitting to protect. No more protection and no more safe guard.

Every one bark, everyone barking to show support, everyone barking when something new in sight, everyone bark to protect their rice bowl, everyone bark to show their existence. Every one bark for territorial  defeat.

So, lets bark..... Who lets the dog out... Wof wof wof.....

Another Dead In Custody - P Karuna Nithi

Engineer P Karuna Nithi has become the third person to die in police custody in less than two weeks. The family was informed of his death in Tampin last night.

Karuna's family was informed by telephone at 9.45pm yesterday that he had "suddenly died" about 7pm at the Tampin district police headquarters, former Kapar MP S Manikavasagam said today.

Manikavasagam, who accompanied the family to Hospital Tuanku Jaafar in Seremban this morning, said the family found injuries on Karuna's body.

Kapar MP S Manikavasagam in dang wangi sex tape report"Only two persons were allowed to see the body. I was not allowed as I am not a family member, so I told the family to check the body.

"The family was not allowed to move the body but there was blood on the tray where the body was placed," Manikavasagam (left) told Malaysiakini when contacted.

Karuna's brother P Ilam said when contacted that he saw bruises on Karuna's arms and blood on his head.

"He was bleeding from the back of his head and there were bruises on his left and right arms.

"The doctor said something may have happened to him in the lock-up but we are not sure what," he said.

Close to 1pm today, Manikavasagam said the post-mortem was still going on and the family would claim the body later today.

karuna death in custody"The family will take the body for special prayers tomorrow, outside the police station where Karuna (right) was killed," he said, adding that they will also lodge a police report.

According to Manikavasagam, Karuna had gone to see his estranged wife about their two children and an a scuffle took place.

Karuna later went to lodge a police report on the incident, but was instead arrested by police and remanded for three days.

He was on May 31 charged in the magistrate's court in Tampin with "causing hurt".

"At that time, the family members were there and they said he was in good health when in court," said Manikavasagam.

Karuna was to be out on bail tomorrow

Karuna was granted bail at RM4,000 but was unable to immediately raise the sum.

The family had plan to post bail on Monday but were instead informed of his death last night.

NONE"I call Home Minister Zahid Hamidi (right) to take immediate action. Karuna was a well-educated person, an engineer who had no previous criminal record. It was just a small family dispute.

"Don't let this be another Dhamendran case where those responsible were put on desk duty.

"This is double-standard. When police commit murder they get desk duty but when anybody else is accused of this, they get charged," said Manikavasagam.

Jobless man R Jamesh Ramesh, 40, was found dead in a police station lock-up in Penang on May 26. Police said he died of liver failure.

On May 21, N Dhamendran, 31, was found dead after being remanded at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters. Police said he died of breathing difficulties.

However, the case was classified as murder after a post-mortem found the body to have been tortured.

The full autopsy report released yesterday revealed Dhamendran suffered 52 injuries, ranging from his body parts being stapled, rattan-like marks throughout his body and even an incomplete number "8" mark on his hip.

Suspend the Policemen - Dhamendran's Widow

The wife of death in custody victim N Dhamendran is upset that the policemen linked to his death been given desk jobs with suggestions of them being suspended, when they should have been arrested from the beginning.

"They have murdered my husband. They should be in a lock up, not having a desk jobs. They do not deserve it. By right, they should be hung to death,” said S Marry.

NONE"If the public were to kill someone, would they still be walking free? This is the police committing murder," said the teary mother of a two-year old son.
Yesterday Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was tentative with calls for the policemen being probed for the 31-year-old’s death to be suspended from duty instead of being assigned desk jobs, saying it had to be handled delicately lest the police force be demoralised.

Dhamendran had allegedly gone to the police station to lodge a report over a fight, but had ended up being detained and died in custody, initially said to be from breathing difficulties.

However an autopsy at Kuala Lumpur Hospital on May 22 concluded the cause of death as blunt force trauma.

Police have since classified Dhamendran's death as murder under section 302 of the Penal Code.

Marry's call comes after lawyer N Surendran made public Dhamendran's autopsy report at the PKR headquarters this morning, which suggested that he was handcuffed and brutality beaten to death.

Surendran, also the Padang Serai MP, said the police were already aware of Dhamendran's brutal cause of death when they handed over the autopsy report to the family's lawyer at 11am yesterday.

"Based on this report, legally it is adequate evidence to bring murder charges against all the police personnel involved under section 302 of the Penal Code.

"But instead the four personnel are transferred to desk duty, this is a joke... We demand that all the police personnel involved be arrested immediately. I mean today - within the hour," he said
He said under Section 302 of the Penal Code, the accused cannot be granted bail and must be in detention until their trial concludes but yet the culprits were still "walking about freely".

Low adding to family grief

Surendran also described as a lie Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Paul Low's denial of seeking a secret meeting with the deceased's family through Dhamendran's father and claiming it was the family's representative who first sought the meeting.
Surendran confirmed that Dhamendran's father B Naraynasamy who spoke to Low's officer D Ravindran had asked them not to come to their home as emotions were running high, but denied the family engaged the Prime Minister's Department first.

"I am disgusted by Paul Low and his officers. Here is a family in sorrow and they decide to go about casting aspersions on a grieving family.

"Well done Paul Low, if this is the best you can do," he said sarcastically.
When pressed on Low's assertion that he merely wanted to help and his intention for a meeting had been misunderstood, an angry Marry retorted: "We did not misunderstand, it was the person on the phone who misunderstood. If they wanted to help we would've accepted".

"But why did they ask us to meet in secret and ditch our lawyers? That is not helping," she said angrily.

Surendran reiterated his call for an explanation from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak himself as the call had came from his departmen which had a history of interfering in such cases such as blocking a Thai pathologist from conducting an autopsy in C Sugumar's death in custody case.
He also demanded that Home Minister Zahid Hamidi and inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar explain why Dhamendran's body was stapled repeatedly and riddled with cane marks.

'Apologise to family'
"There has not been a single word of apology to the family, instead they (government) are attacking the family, accusing them of making phone calls (to the Prime Minister's Department).

Surendran also blasted the government for debates over the forming of a panel to oversee death in custody and suggestions to install CCTV when it had yet to address the immediate matter - arresting those responsible.

"These are all distractions from the real matter at hand," he said.

The family's lawyer Michelle Yesudas described the Dhamendran's death as an "execution".

"What we have here is an execution of a person even before he is brought to court.

"Every time the government fails to address death in custody, they are victimising every single victim who dies in custody (after that). We do not want this anymore," she said.

Beaten to Death In Custody - Suffered 52 injuries.

Death in custody victim N Dhamendran was defencelessly beaten to death while handcuffed, suggests the preliminary report of post-mortem examination revealed today.

The written report by forensic pathologist Dr Siew Sheue Feng from Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) concluded that there were no defensive wounds found on Dhamendran’s body.

NONE“It was quite clear that during his beating he was handcuffed, and in a lower position, possibly kneeling or something,” family lawyer N Surendran said at a press conference at PKR HQ today.

Dhamendran had sustained 52 marks of injury throughout his body, ranging from head to toe.

Surendran declared that this was “even worse than A Kugan’s case” in 2009.
According to the autopsy, a group of double ‘tram line' bruises, believed to be from rotan marks, were found in a parallel oblique pattern on his lower back and posterior.

"We can only speculate but these look like rotan marks, or something similar," Surendran said.

A patterned bruise, resembling an incomplete number 8 was found on his hip bone.

There was also another double ‘tram line' bruise on Dhamendran's wrist-hand consistent with handcuff marks.

The autopsy also reported numerous blackened bruises on his face, the chest area, shoulders, legs, scalp and back, which Surendran described as "overlapping bruises".
His abdomen, below the kidney area, loins, and navel also carried similar marks.
'Stapler used as torture instrument'
Both Dhamendran's ears were found with staple wounds with the staples still there while his legs had puncture wounds, also believed to be from staples that had been removed.

"These are consistent staple wounds, and this indicates that they had used a stapler to torture him," Surendran said.
Some other bruises found on Dhamendran's body were: A thick blood clot on his lower right thigh, measuring 28 x 20cm.
  • An extensive blood clot on his left thigh, measuring 50 x 31cm
  • Bruise measuring 23 x 14 cm on lower left leg
  • Blood clots measuring 9 x 6.5cm on left half of his face
  • Patchy bruises on his neck and upper chest, measuring 13 x 8cm
While the police have classified Dhamendran's death as murder under section 302 of the Penal Code, the four officers being probed are still serving desk duties.

kugan death protest 210109 posters 03Today Dhamendran’s widow took offence that the perpetrators were still walking free and demanded they be immediately arrested.
Dhamendran's death recalls similar circumstances surrounding 22-year-old A Kugan's in 2009 (right).
The youth was detained over alleged car theft and died in custody of horrific mulltiple wounds to his entire body and internal organs, although police originally claimed he died of an asthma attack.
Dr Siew concluded in her report that the overall pattern of these injuries revealed that they were neither self-inflicted nor accidental in nature.

Surendran also concluded that it means Dhamendran had been in good health when he first entered the lockup.

"Dhamendran was beaten on every part of his body, and not one inch was spared," he added.

"We can only imagine the pain and agony he endured during the last moments of his life as he was (allegedly) handcuffed and beaten to death.

"He was a man with hopes and dreams, a heart and a family. And they (police) took everything away from him."

This is Interesting - Collective story

Malaysia always been a interesting country. Just name it, you will get all sort of stories. It can be  political, abuse of power, corruption, dead in custody, denial of entry from traveling in own country, denial to have peaceful gatering, bumiputra rights, denial of colored Malaysian, ruling government is always right and opposition is always wrong, cronism, favoritism and just name anything and you will get a story to talk about.

This is why the road side tea stalls always full of people but the the owners never made money; You know why? Hahahahaha.... a tea for RM1.00 and the chair is occupied for hours. How to make money la?

I had my "teh tarik" and news portal this morning and you know what? I can't live with out it. A day will not complete with out it.

As we go again,  it simply amazing to live in this country and so much so very interesting here compare to any other country around the world.

Lets starts of with dead in police custody. I have discussed about this issue before. Now tell me, how to feel safe when someone specialy colored citizen always end up dead in custodial of the Malaysian Autority? and you know what they get? Tranfered to desk job.

From Kugan to Darmendran, lately a man called James in Penang. Sugumar body still laid in hospital waiting for second autopsy. Even custom officer who was question jumped from higher storey to take his own life. Nothing has been done and ony talk and news to read.

Another interesting issue for today is Malaysian were stopped from traveling in his / her own country. They were not the criminals, they were not the terrorist and they were not treaten to the      country but politician made their own rules for their own beneficial and comfort or does this mean, ruling man in power pist on his pant for a sweet female politician?

Lets move on with another interesting denial of the rich and famous Malaysian who made money in 30 years in power. He is smart when he said this to the press. "Something is wrong when you dont use your brain while you are in power for 30 years". Hope you understand what he meant by saying so. His cooruption has been published and the whole world know what is happening.

The rakyat knows what is happening, the government know what is happening, the police know what is happening and we know GOD is watching.

His total denied proved that Federal government is holding thius state chief's balls and enjoying the smell of his fart. May be he think he is above PM of  Malaysia. Is this mean, PM is under power.

Wake up East Malaysian !!

Another political jokes, Malaysian will be blacklisted if they tarnish country's name abroad. Black list from what? To enter Malaysia? No la... their passport shall be cancelled and they can't go out from Malaysia anymore lo..... aiya so simple la.

And the best of all, "Apa cina mau lagi". Famous quote from Utusan. It was indeed worshipped by pro gov's goons. Is this not sedition?

Negara ku...
tanah tumpahnya darah ku.... my country. I am a Malaysian.

THE CALL WAS TO ASSIST - Paul Low

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Paul Low has clarified that the phone call made by his officer to the family of N Dharmendran, who was found dead in police custody, was not to settle the case out of court, but to offer assistance.

“Basic human rights is the right of all. It was on this basis that my office had attempted to reach out to the family yesterday. We tried to explain that we are willing to work together with any party, regardless of political affiliations.

“This was sadly misunderstood as a means to settle out of court. This was never our intention. I still confirm that we are ready to work with any party, regardless of political affiliations, to ensure expedient justice to all,” said the newly-minted minister in a statement issued today.

azlanThe minister overseeing human rights and integrity was responding to the claim of Dharmendran’s father earlier today that he was contacted by an officer from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) yesterday.

B Narayanasamy, 59 said at a press conference at PKR headquarters this afternoon that a caller named Ravindran had spoken to him, and asked that their conversation be kept confidential.

Narayanasamy added that Dharmendran’s wife, S Marry, 28, was subsequently contacted by the same individual.

“He said he was from the PMO and that he wanted to meet with Marry and me to talk about Dharmendran’s death and to not inform our lawyers about this as well as our secret meeting,” he explained in Tamil.

According to Narayanasamy, Ravindran told them not to engage in their current lawyers as he would provide the family with his own, which Narayanasamy saw as “an attempt to cover up”.

Narayanasamy had rejected the offer as he believed the investigation needed to be focused on the cause of his son’s death and not on his family.

“The pathologist declared he had died of blunt force trauma, so why not continue with the investigations?” he asked.

Explanation sought from Najib

He demanded an explanation from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak as to why officers within his department were interfering with Dharmendran’s death when they should be “charging the police officer who was responsible for his murder” instead.

NONEHis statements were translated by family lawyers G Sivamalar and PKR vice-president N Surendran, who were in attendance at the press conference today.

In the statement issued later, Low said his office has also contacted PKR's Subang MP R Sivarasa yesterday to clarity that his ministry is willing to bridge the political divide.

He called on the police to hasten their investigation which should be transparent, impartial and definitive.

“I have spoken to the home minister on this and have his assurance of a thorough investigation and anyone found responsible will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

Low also urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct a parallel investigation given allegations of possible corruption involved.

“I certainly believe that the various enforcement agencies would deliver an expedient and thorough investigation and bring to justice whoever is responsible.

The former Transparency-International Malaysia (TI-M) chapter president assured the public that a thorough evaluation of all procedures, practices and regulations will be made to ensure that they comply with the highest standard of integrity to safeguard the well-being of any person in custody.

Yesterday the police announced that a special committee headed by inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar will be set up to curb incidents involving deaths in police lock-ups.

Dharmendran, 31, was picked up by police on May 11 after he had lodged a report at the Pudu police station over his involvement in a fight. He was remanded at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters and faound dead on May 22.

His parents and wife had not been informed of his arrest until May 19, where they had visited him at the police lock-up on the very same day.

Consultant pathologist Dr Siew Sheue Feng from Kuala Lumpur Hospital later confirmed that Dharmendran had died of blunt force trauma, a result of the numerous staples and beatings inflicted to his body.

24 hour or Face the Fact - PDRM

PKR has threatened to launch a major protest at the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters for failing to take action against those responsible for detainee N Dharmendran's death.

pkr dharmendran dang wangi police 260513 surendranCalling this the worst death-in-custody case he has dealt with in his 15 years of handling human rights matters, PKR vice-president N Surendran (right) said a civilian would have been arrested immediately for a much lesser crime.

And yet, he said no action has been taken so far against those involved in the murder of Dharmendran, who died at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters lock-up on May 21.

“The pathologist has already confirmed that Dharmendran was murdered in police custody. Why are there no police officers arrested to date?

“The murderer’s identity is already known in this case. The police only need to find all the police officers who questioned and tortured Dharmendran,” Surendran said today.
He called for the immediate arrest of the police officers involved, and for attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail to press murder charges against them.
24 hour ultimatum

He said he would see if the police take action in the next 24 hours before deciding whether to go ahead with the protest.

pkr dharmendran dang wangi police 260513 mary mariay susaySurendran, who spoke as the family lawyer, said this to reporters after accompanying Dharmendran’s widow Mary Mariay Susay (right) and about 20 family members to lodge a fresh police report over the death at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.

In this second police report, Mary Mariay cited the pathologist’s finding that her husband was murdered and complained that she was not kept informed of the developments in the case.
Thus far, Surendran said, he received a call from the investigating officer just after lodging a police report, asking Mary Mariay to have her statement recorded.

While welcoming this and saying that he would cooperate, Surendran reiterated that the culprits should have been arrested by now.

On Thursday, Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohamad Salleh said Bukit Aman has formed a task force to investigate the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

This follows the government pathologist’s report that Dharmendran had died of “multiple blunt force trauma”, with staples attached to his ears as well as signs of stapling on his legs and ankles.

However, Surendran complained that despite the task force and Mohamad’s statements on May 23 that the task force has already begun working on the case, nothing is known of its progress.

Had to bribe to see husband

Meanwhile, Dharmendran’s family members carried placards and banners outside the police station denouncing the police as “bloodthirsty”, calling for justice and the formation of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC).

In an emotionally charged protest against the police, Mary Mariay, who was carrying her two-year-old son, lamented among other matters that she had to bribe her way to visit her husband while he was still alive in the lock-up last week to ensure that he was properly fed.

NONEShe said she was told to offer the police personnel on duty several packs of chicken rice, cans of sports drinks and sticks of cigarettes.

However, no amount of money can bring her husband back now, she said.

Asked whether a report has been lodged over the alleged bribery, Surendran said the family has not done so because the members have been busy with other issues. However, it will have to be lodged soon since, since Mary Mariay had raised the issue.

There was also a brief commotion within the police station compound while the police report was being lodged.

NONEReporters rushing to witness the scene found PKR human rights and legal affairs bureau deputy chairperson S Jayathas (left) on the ground.

Jayathas was surrounded by about 20 police officers while those guarding the gate quickly closed it. This lasted several minutes before he got up and entered the police station.

Earlier, at about 11.35am Jayathas was accompanying Dharmendran’s family and Surendran to lodge the police report, and came out of the police station to inform reporters waiting outside that the process would take another 10 minutes.

Speaking to reporters after he left the police station for the second time, Jayathas claimed that he was not allowed to re-enter the police station and was shoved to the ground, until Surendran came out of the station to intervene.

He has lodged a police report on this, naming the police officer who shoved him down.

“I want Bukit Aman to investigate the issue, not here (IPD Dang Wangi). I don’t trust the people here,” Jayathas said.

Surendran also denounced the large police presence when the report was being lodged, saying it amounted to intimidation against Dharmendran’s family and lawyers, who were only seeking justice.
Cops: Only crowd control
Meanwhile according to Bernama, Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainuddin Ahmad in a statement explained the commotion saying the police were forced to tighten security and was merly trying to manage the crowd.

pkr dharmendran dang wangi police 260513 jayathasHe said they were trying to prevent the whole group from entering all at once to reduce the congestion at the enquiries counter, as there were also other members of the public who were in the premises for their respective purposes.

He said the media statement was also to avoid any confusion over an incident at the station today, in which a man Zainuddin did not name, had suddenly rushed in through the restricted area, shoving off a policeman and cursing him before throwing himself down on the pathway at the entrance to the enquiries office.

According to Zainuddin, the man was lying there for about 10 to 15 seconds and sprang up when he heard a policeman calling for an ambulance.

"There was no force involved but police have filed a report against the man under section 353 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty," he added.

Zainuddin was likely to be referring to Jayathas.

This new was from Malaysiankini. Justice for all who were ill treated in this country.

Another Malaysian Indian Dead in Custody

A consultant pathologist from Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) had late yesterday confirmed that police detainee N Dharmendran died as a result of "diffusion of soft tissue injuries due to multiple blunt force trauma".

This was related by Dr Siew Sheue Feng to Dharmendran's family and lawyers N Surendran and Latheefa Koya, as well as to the police investigating officer at the HKL mortuary last night.

According to Surendran, the pathologist had also found that the wounds were fresh, which the former said proved Dharmendran had been beaten and horribly tortured to death while in custody.

"This is a clear indication by the pathologist of the cause of death as blunt force trauma as a result of the beatings suffered by Dharmendran while being remanded at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters.

"The pathologist also found rotan had been used on the deceased's back as there were (rotan) marks.

"Besides the ears being stapled, the pathologist also found staples on both legs at the ankle area," Surendran said.

He claimed this was the initial findings related by the pathologist, although Siew will prepare his full report on the findings within the next few days.

Surendran, who is also the newly-elected Padang Serai MP, had described this as the worst case of death in police custody since A Kugan in 2009.

This also rules out the earlier statements by the Kuala Lumpur police, where Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Ku Chin Wah was quoted to have said that the 31-year-old died as a result of breathing difficulties.

Police have now classified Dharmendran's death as murder under section 302 of the Penal Code.

In a statement issued late last night, Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh said that the post-mortem showed there were criminal elements in the death of the detainee.
"Police have referred the matter to Bukit Aman, and have received orders that the case be classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"An officer from Bukit Aman will be appointed to carry out further investigation into the matter," said Mohmad in a brief statement.

Funeral to be held today

Surendran said Dharmendran's family members are satisfied with the explanation given by the pathologist and will be claiming the body, with the funeral expected to be conducted later today.

"There will be no (further) post-mortem and the family and I are glad that the pathologist had made these important findings to prove the torture that Dharmendran had suffered.

"This is unlike the first post-mortem in the Kugan affair," he said.

It was reported that Dharmendran was arrested by police when he lodged a police report after being involved in a fight on May 11.

His wife and parents only knew of his arrest four days ago on May 19, and they visited Dharmendran at the police lock-up.

Dharmendran was supposed to have been released on bail yesterday.

However, the family was shocked when they received a call from an unidentified police officer informing them of Dharmendran's death and asked them to collect his body at HKL.

They were allowed to view the body yesterday afternoon and a post-mortem was performed soon after.

kugan ananthan funeral 230109In the 2009 case of Kugan, the 23-year-old died at the Taipan police station after he was arrested over a spate of alleged thefts of luxury cars in the area.

His cause of death was initially listed as "pulmonary oedema", or drowning, after a first post-mortem was conducted at the Serdang hospital.

Dissatisfied with the findings, his family pressed for a second post-mortem, which found the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

Action was taken on the pathologist who performed the first post-mortem by the Malaysian Medical Association.

This resulted in an on-going legal suit by the family of the deceased against the police and the government.

Collective Story - GE13

Battle between new comers the veterans is still hard rocking the political parties in Malaysia.

Shocking but welcoming to former Menteri Besar of Selangor (Chief Minister - Selangor) Muhamad Bin Haji taib who joined PAS after serving UMNO for decades.

He can be considered as one of the talented and bright future minister and I had shoulder tabbed my him when he was in power in Selangor.

I use to work for some volunteers back in those days in Batang kali. We use to meet up with Taib in few occasion and he is generally can be considered as a man of his word.

His career in politic ended when he was arrested by Australian police for caring 2.4 million ringgit in cash. Al though he was cleared later but the effect and the political agendas in UMNO made him out of ring for some time.

Another interesting story from MCA, indicate battling 37 parliament seat compare to 40 seats in 2008. Three most famous figures such as Ong Tee Kiat and Ng Yen Yen shall not be in the line to contest.

Hope they will join Pakatan but anyway, who needs them?

In another incident , a PKR party worker who was slashed in Terengganu on April 12 said he knows the assailants and claimed that they are Umno supporters.

Hasri Hassan told reporters that he would probably not forgive them even if they apologise.

“I know them. They have been gangsters for a long time,” he claimed in a weak voice.

He had been brought on a stretcher to PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today, where a press conference was held.

PKR Terengganu chief Azan Ismail said Hasri had been attacked with sticks and machetes by 16 men while putting up party flags in Kemaman.

He said Hasri received about 50 stitches, mostly around limbs.

What an interesting story to share early in the morning.

We wait and lets rocks the day with more surprising stories.

May 5 2013. Day To Battle for Freedom

Finally it has been finalized, May 5th, 2013 shall be the day for general election for Malaysia.

At last Malaysian shall be voting for the ruling government of their choice. I am not going to predict what shall be the out come but for sure we Malaysian going to see the major result.

Either way shall be the choice we wanted it to be. If the 50 years ruling party continue to rule, it will prove Malaysia still wanted no changes. If we see the changes, it does show we Malaysian wanted changes.

Great saying once said, "If we want changes than we should change". Change the way we think shall be the core for the changes we have been logging for.

Is this a battle to fight for or a war to win? This shall be the answer for each one of us to consider. An effort we should put to the end or to remain as it was.

The choice is always in our hand and we should choose wisely.

Good luck Malaysians.

Malaysian Parliament Dissolved - 2013

PM Najib Abdul Razak announced the dissolution of Parliament today, paving the way for the 13th general election.

A day waited with tremandous eager to change the ruling party has been decided. Its time for all malaysian to decide who should be given the mandate.

The people of all state has been given hint in last GE12 and PR has proven they are the best by taking over few states. They indeed did great job by reducing debts and managed to prevail gain in certain state.

I believe rakyat in East Malaysian specially will decide what best for them. Great job done by Pakatan, with only few state in hand and by not having full support from Federal government, Pakatan lead by Tan Sri Anwar Ibrahin manage to prove to the people of Malaysia to have guts to change and make changes.

If we want changes than we should change. If you have the guts than lets play the game. I would speacialy focus on the people of East Malaysia to open up and look up for the bright star ahead for the benefit of your future land.

Be the real warrior to your future generation. Be the one to change the luck and seek for better life by changing your leaders.

Its time to decide by the rakyat of Sabah and Sarawak.

Don't be naive by choosing the wrong mandate and sell yourself for few ringgits. Wake up and make your choice to prevail the true warriors in you.

Pakatan's 14 Point Plan For Malaysian Tamil

Sweet shocking to know, Pakatan through DAP have made a draft and launched improvement plan for Malaysian Tamils if they take over Putrajaya.

It was amazing indeed for Pakatan side kicked MIC and willing to make such chances in a view on Malaysian Tamil's progresive and determinated to make changes in dealing with the minority.

Some may say its only political gimic, some may claim this 14 points were GE13 political agenda to capture the vote from Malaysian Tamils.

But, in fact, at least they made a plan. I appreciate at least the blue print was drawn. At least the first stage of planning has been carried out and anounced.

The 14 point area:

1. To resolve the problem of the stateless Indians within 100 days of a Pakatan administration;

2. To establish a National Housing Board which will build decent and affordable housing for marginalised groups, especially for displaced Indian plantation workers;

3. To ensure that all national-type Tamil schools become fully-funded and the infrastructure of every single school is up to par with ‘sekolah kebangsaan' (national schools);

4. To invest in technical and vocational training coupled with apprenticeship programmes to provide an alternative education and career path for school dropouts from low-income Indian families;

5. To provide jobs and raise the wages of low-income Indians by implementing a-RM1,100 minimum wage scheme;

6. To increase the number of Indians in GLCs (government-linked companies), local councils, and public services;

7. To alienate land for existing Hindu temples and burial grounds and find replacement land for temples and burial grounds which have to be relocated;

8. To provide microcredit and other financial assistance schemes to Indian small businesses, with a special focus on women, youths and home-based business;

9. To put in place the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) and to eliminate deaths in police custody and custodial deaths;

10. To establish a special fund to promote Indian equity ownership in the country;

11. To establish a commission to address urban poverty and social problems faced by the Indian community;

12. To establish policies that could economically enable single mothers, including house ownership scheme;

13. To establish or enroll in existing residential schools outstanding Indian students from plantation and urban poor families;

14. To abolish all anti-rakyat legislation and to get rid of discrimination.

Great and more to be add on list. I feel it can be for any reason as long as they can compromise. If this can be done, it will be a great stepping stone for Pakatan to keep hold on Malaysian Tamils support.

Collective stories.

I just finished reading a novel written by Sidney Sheldon titled "Master Of The Game". It was just to kill my time and divert my attention from daily routine.

It was a great book on how the lead charater "Kate" played a great role to protect her fathers busines by being the "Master Of The Game". She did everything possible to protect the asset which was earned by her father through ups and down.

She bribe, she protect the guilty, behind the screen of one life, she was behind everything possible to win the game and you know what? She succeded.

Don't be suprise if you find it funny cause I am talking about a Novel rather than talking about politics nor religion.

Just go through below article which I copied from Sabahkini with regards to Taikbilo from Sarawak.

Now, lets talk about the Master Of the game again in this issue. I believe everyone know who is the Master and Who is the Slave in the sarawak land issue.

It can be one of them or it can be both. You see, the note $$$ / RM is so evil that can corrupt anyone who has brain or without.

Thirty year in power and if you don't use your upper level department (brain) to think and act, than something is wrong. This was said clearly by the one who made money from the native land related to this article.

In the above case who was the brainy and who was not?

Think about it.

RPK - No Holds Bar - Value of Muslim Oath

Dear readers,

I copy paste the below article from RPK's blog. Hope he don't mind. I believe, what ever he said below not only goes to one race or one religion but it should goes to all. This article should be the eye opener to those who stand on religion for their personnel gain.

Reading RPK's view actually opened my eyes and made me stronger in my believe upon GOD and his blessing. I am totally agree with him on his statement and would say it again that religion is "man made". GOD never created religion. Man DID. And these man have built a wall that separate humans with each other.

Many of us mis-understood the teching and the message from GOD by building a wall by the name of religion. These are those monkeys who have taken teaching of GOD and the holy book as a shield to protect them.

Taking Oath on the Holy became a trend now a days. Our beloved PM did and PI Bala did. But DSAI still never wanted to, and I respect his view and stand for his religious believe.

Why shouls some one take oath? Why should someone take oath by the name of GOD and be GOD as a witness?

Is it so ones believe that I he or she take oath by the name of GOD that his / her statement shall be considered the holy truth?

Does our court of justice can justified this oath? Think about it.....

The Value of Muslim Oath - RPK

This is the photograph that Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail showed during the press conference that she held regarding Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan’s sodomy allegation against Anwar Ibrahim. When the press asked Wan Azizah where she got the photograph from, she pointed to me standing at the back of the hall and told the reports to ask Raja Petra.

The reporters then rushed up to me to ask me my comments and I just smiled and responded with a ‘no comment’. I just love keeping some things a mystery – such as from where I got that photograph.

At first Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s office denied the photograph and also denied that Saiful had ever been to meet the Prime Minister. Later, when I said that I have evidence that Saiful did visit Najib’s office, they did a U-turn and admitted that he did go to Najibs office after all but merely to discuss a scholarship.

Hence allow me to gloat by saying that Malaysia Today broke the story first and even revealed the photograph.

But that is not the point of my article today. What I really want to talk about is that Malays (meaning Muslims as well) pride themselves on the sanctity of the Qur’an and the value of an oath of a Muslim.

In fact, in Surah An Nur (chapter 24) of the Qur’an, it stresses that in any allegation involving sexual misconduct (where the sentence is stoning to death just like the old Jewish laws) your oath can determine whether a person is put to death or is spared death.

In other words, another person’s oath can result in you being put to death (by many people throwing stones at you) and/or your oath can spare you the terrible fate of being put to death (by many people throwing stones at you). So an oath is not a light thing. It is the difference between life and death.

And this is what Saiful had done -- he had taken an oath -- and also what Najib had done regarding his alleged involvement with Altantuya Shaariibuu -- he had also taken an oath that he had never met her or even knows her.

Today, Malaysians have learned that an oath of a Muslim has no value after all. An oath of a Muslim -- even when taken with a Qur’an over his/her head -- is as valuable as Japanese ‘banana money’.
After this can we ever accept the oath of a Malay/Muslim? It appears like the oath of a Muslim, the most sacred word that a Muslim can ever give, is not worth the paper it is written on (pun intended).

The Malays/Muslims need to ponder on this. If from now on the non-Muslims mock a Muslim who swears in the name of Allah regarding this, that or the other, the Malays/Muslims should not feel offended and start making police reports that so-and-so has insulted Islam and threaten bloodshed and all that bullshit.

The Malays/Muslims have just reduced the value of a Muslim oath to zero value. Can we any longer trust Malays/Muslims when they swear an oath in the name of Allah while holding a Qur’an? No wonder Malays/Muslims swear an oath of office and as soon as they are in office they resort to corruption and abuse of power and violate the trust the people have put in them.

In short, Malays/Muslims cannot be trusted because the sacred oath of a Malay/Muslim is totally worthless. And a human whose sacred oath is worthless is lower than an animal. Are Muslims lower than animals then?

Yes, and trust me, after writing this article I have just closed the door to ever returning to Malaysia never mind whether Pakatan Rakyat or Barisan Nasional wins the coming general election.

****************************************

P.S.: By the way, I am inviting volunteers from both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat to become sub-editors of Malaysia Today -- at least for now until the coming general election. Your job will be to update/publish news items or articles every day, say about half a dozen or so a day per person.
The reason I am inviting volunteers from both sides of the political divide is so that we can get balanced reporting and views. Definitely the pro-Barisan people will publish pro-government items while the pro-Pakatan people will publish anti-government items. (You have absolute autonomy and can also write your own articles if you want to).

I will need you to verify your identity and political affiliation, of course, and if you respond fast enough maybe we can arrange a face-to-face meeting some time next week in a secret location in the Malaysian jungle to get the ball rolling. (So be prepared to ‘disappear’ for a whole day next week).
If you want Malaysia Today to be more balanced then this is your opportunity to do that. I am prepared to turn Malaysia Today into a ‘public-owned’ Blog and allow you to determine what gets published in Malaysia Today. Then you have no reason to say that Malaysia Today is biased. We want to be as balanced as we can but then you must help make this possible.
Any takers? You can contact me at petra_kamarudin@airpost.net

Now Everyone Can't Fly - JOE SAMAD

When I read this column, it does hit my head and the story can be related to my experience traveling to East Malaysia for work purpose back ...
