Racism

“We assembled in small groups for out-of-door talks, in the school grounds. We were told that the Malays were the most supreme race in the world, we were God's chosen few, that the others were insignificant. We were warned about certain elements in our society and abroad, determined to undermine Malay excellence”

It was never meant to be a question-and-answer session and the lecturer omitted to qualify his contentious and contemptuous statements.

Just like my peers, my mind was focused on going overseas. In essence, we simply 'switched off'. Moreover, we hardly experienced any racial issues at our convent school.

When questions with political and religious undertones are incorporated, that is reason enough for the BTN to cease to operate and function.

When non-Malay Malaysians are chastised for their 'immigrant' status and are condescendingly told to be grateful to the Malays, that is wrong.

When only the contributions of the Malays are recognized for bringing peace and prosperity to the nation that is positively abhorrent.

When Malays are warned not to mingle with non-Malays, when only Muslims are to be respected, that is despicable.

It is a mockery that 1Malaysia has boiled down to mean 'belonging to only one race'. And the shocking thing is that many Western-educated middle class Malays believe it. ~ Mariam Mokhtar published in Malaysiakini.

Above is a statement from truly Malaysian Malay who had the guts to voice out the injustice and brain washing session conducted by the authorities.

I had some experience in exchanging some emails with one of the MARA sponsored student in facebook.

He was one of the student who stand on his feed and trying to teach me about ketuanan Melayu, hak orang Melayu, Pendatang, Sosial Contract, Suruhan Jaya Reid and many more.

Guess what, he gave up after almost over 70 emails were exchanged. Now I know why and how thick was his ego.

But it was not his fault. May be BTN succeeded in their tasked to recruit a real Malay as they wanted.

May be, he was given scholarship and in return was request to be loyal to Malays and reject those non Malays.

I don’t call this as a brainwash. I think they (Malays) actual worried that they will loss this country. Hey, it is only a may be. But when it was a may be it can be may be not too. But honestly I think this is ridiculous. Loosing the county to your countryman? - lvbala

The National Union of Bank Employees (Nube) today called for Bank Negara to thoroughly investigate a bank that it claimed is using race as a basis to evaluate loan applications. – Malaysiakini 07/12/09.

If this is true, I am definitely sure of racism is on going in Malaysia. Started from quota system in education, loans, housing, contract for contractors and now the latest is to educate those Malay friends on how to treat and respect non Malay friends.

For the record, this whole scenario was high lighted by Malay friends. The respected Malay Menteri Besar of Selangor is against it by banning all state civils from attending the course conduct by BTN.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has described Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a racist for saying that there was no need to revamp the current National Civics Bureau (BTN) training modules ~ Staronline 07/12/09.

It was to my surprise when I heard this statement came from DS Nazri Aziz but I am surely welcomed it at the most.

Mariam Moktar’s revealed her part of the story and she was surely disappointed and saddened with the way they were put into a situation of no choice. In fact she was from a Convent. How surprising.

Many more Malay friends out there are still protest in silence. They keep mum but they know what is going on around them. They know this idea is ridicules.

I am confused with the way our country been lead. But I am glad the majority of Malaysians are far sited.

What else do we need to prove to them that “rakyat of Malaysia” are against racism.

Any Ideas are welcomed and for sure to be publish as an honor. Lets stay united and against racism. Let us stay united and reject this government for letting the racism grown in this soil.
